Pyotr Konchalovsky

Pyotr Konchalovsky (21 February 187602 February 1956) was a Russian painter, a member of Jack of Diamonds group.
In 1880 Petr Konchalovsky enters Kharkov private school of Raevskaia and studies drawing there. At the same time he gets acquainted with artist Levchenko, visits his studio and tries to work with paints.
After arrival to Moscow in 1889 he continues studying painting and drawing in the evening classes at V.D.Suhov in Central Stroganov School of Technical Drawing.





The artist more and more interests in the impressionists painting and after the termination of studying in the summer of 1907, writes a number of etudes in the impressionism manner.

 Since 1909, he exhibited frequently, participating in the Golden Fleece, Fraternity, Mir Iskusstva, and New Society of Artists. He was a founding member of the society Jack of Diamonds in 1909. The group included Robert Falk, Aristarkh Lentulov, Ilya Mashkov, Alexander V. Kuprin, Alexander Osmerkin, Wladimir Burliuk, Pyotr Konchalovsky and Moisey Feigin.

 Pyotr Konchalovsky was a very prolific painter, and is known to have created more than five thousand works.
